Parish in 5-month study

Saint Philip’s is a part of a research study over the next five months. It’s called the Imagining Church Project, which is a part of the Thriving Congregations grant at Princeton Theological Seminary, sponsored by the Lilly Endowment. Each year they select 24 recommended churches of different denominations from across the country to study their ministry and work. We are honored that Saint Philip’s has been recommended and chosen as one of their study partners for this research cycle.

The principal investigator is Rev’d Dr Gordon Mikoski, and Carol Meyer is the coordinator for the project. The research assistant, who is our contact, is Deborah Jodrey, MDiv, MACEF.

In order to learn about the worshipping community, what we value, who we are in God and ministry, and how we're adapting in this challenging ministry context, Deborah will attend a few different events. She will announce herself and, in some cases, need the consent of those gathered for her to be there, so look out for the opportunity to meet her over Zoom, soon! By the end of 2020 the research team will draw together some conclusions from our practices to add to their research.
