Welcome

The mission and vision of any church is simply this - to know Christ and to make Christ known. How we do this varies from church to church and is as diverse as the communities we love and serve.

Here you will find a little bit about what makes this community unique. Ultimately though our identity is shaped by each and every person who comes here to worship, pray, love, learn, seek, and serve.

If this becomes your church home then you will shape who we are in the years to come. Whatever we look like, and whoever we are, may we always seek first the Son of God and may that always be our hope and joy.

Fr Robert Hendrickson, Rector

History

From generation to generation, Saint Philip’s has been rooted both in our Anglican tradition and in the Tucson community, giving generously of the resources and gifts we’ve been given, being present in times of need, and helping to found and support churches, schools, hospitals, and more.

Prayer of Saint Philip

“Saint Philip, at the Last Supper you said to Jesus, ‘Lord, show us the Father and it will be enough for us.’ Help us to make this our prayer also and to seek God in all things. Pray for us to know the Father and Jesus Christ whom he has sent - for in this does eternal life consist. Amen.”

Our Values

Saint Philip’s in the Hills considers the following values to be self-evident for followers of God in Christ: kindness, honesty, compassion, humility, transparency, integrity, open communication, and healthy boundaries, striving for excellence in all we do. Our core values are shaped by our Baptismal Covenant. The Baptismal Covenant is the set of promises we affirm at Baptism and that we re-affirm as a community throughout the year. These promises are shared across the Episcopal Church and reflect how our Church is charged to follow Christ.

By living our values, we live out that charge, with God’s help.
