‘Faith & Love Festival’
Saint Philip’s has joined with a local United Methodist church and a Tucson coffee purveyor to stage a “Faith & Love Festival” at Udall Park on Saturday, November 16.
Mtr Mary has been working with Pastor Mike Wilkerson of St. Francis in the Foothills UMC; and, Jared Wright, founder of Blessed Grounds, to bring about a new ecumenical ministry presence in Tucson.
Fr Robert fully embraces the idea of teaming with others to offer ministry on a larger and broader scale than is possible on campus.
He says, “Saint Philip’s has a long history of partnering with churches across traditions to serve the material and spiritual needs of so many in our community. I’m delighted to see that work continue in this new way. In a changing culture, part of our witness to the Gospel is looking for ways to work and pray together rather than letting our sad divisions persist.”
The festival is set for 3:00pm-6:00pm at the park’s Amphitheater. There will be three “bands” performing as part of the ecumenical evening, including Saint Philip’s own Joyful Noise-Makers. All are invited to enjoy food trucks, activities for children, opportunities to support area non-profit causes, gather information, and meet new people.
Mtr Mary says the ministries fused into a collaborative group very easily. “It’s not about the Episcopal Church, or the United Methodists, or the wonderful work done by Blessed Grounds. It’s about coming together to promote the all-embracing love of Jesus.”

Mark your calendars, bring some friends, and experience something new!
